Terms & Conditions

Provisional wording

These terms are provisional and pending legal sign-off. Final wording, including the membership notice period, will be confirmed before launch.

These terms apply to participation in British Theatre Academy (BTA) activities. Attendance constitutes acceptance of these terms. Questions can be sent to info@btamail.co.uk.

Child protection

Our teachers hold DBS checks and insurance and follow our Child Protection Policy. In the course of teaching, a professional may physically correct a performer's positioning. Updates to our policies are posted on this website.

Our liability

  • BTA holds Public Liability Insurance but is not responsible for cancellations, loss, injury or damage, except where caused by the negligence of our staff.
  • BTA is not responsible for errors made on registration forms.
  • BTA is not responsible for damage to or loss of personal property.
  • BTA is not liable for circumstances beyond its control, including natural disasters and adverse weather.
  • Our responsibility is limited to rehearsal times only.

Parent & guardian responsibilities

  • You must notify BTA of any illness or injury affecting participation.
  • You must keep contact and health information correct and current.
  • Disruptive children may be excluded.
  • You must follow the conduct rules of any third-party venue.
  • Photographs and video may be used for publicity unless a written objection is submitted.
  • No alcohol or drugs are permitted; a violation risks revocation of membership.

Membership cancellation

Cancellation of membership requires half-term notice (six weeks), with fees due during the notice period.

Note: the notice period is being reconciled with our Show Contract wording and may change before launch.
